Turkey #4: Ephesus & Pamukkale

There are two places I wanted to visit my whole life. First of all - Ephesus - famous ancient city where you can find the Temple of Artemis, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, the famous Library of Celsus which secret tunnel led directly to one of the first brothels in the world and just in front of it you can find the statue of the first business woman! It's the city where every visitor had to have a bath in order to enter it, where important decisions were made in public toilets, it's the city that hides so many stories and legends. The second place is Pamukkale or cotton castle, a true wonder of our planet where the nature did a real masterpiece. How can I possibly describe the white color of its stones, the turquoise of its water, the view that spreads far in the horizon? You have to see it to believe it and even then you'll be thinking if it is real! I've visited a lot of places but never something as beautiful and unique as Pamukkale. The legend says that its thermal waters will make you look 10 years younger. Maybe that's why Cleopatra chose this place for one of her baths... Sunset started to change the color of our cotton castle and once again, Turkey appeared to be even more beautiful than I could ever imagine.

Llevo toda la vida queriendo visitar dos sitios. Primero, Éfeso - la famosa ciudad antigua donde podemos encontrar el Templo de Artemisa, una de las Siete Maravillas del Mundo Antiguo, la famosa Biblioteca de Celso cuyo túnel secreto llevaba directo a uno de los primeres burdeles, y justo al lado está la estatua de la primera mujer de negocios! Es la cuidad donde cada visitante tenía que bañarse antes de entrar, donde los importantes negocios y decisiones se planeaban en los aseos públicos, es la cuidad que tiene tantas historias y leyendas. Nuestro segundo destino fue Pamukkale o castillo de algodón, un verdadero milagro de nuestro planeta donde la naturaleza hizo una obra de arte. No sé como describir el blanco de sus piedras, el turquesa de sus aguas, las vistas que se expanden a lo lejos. Hay que verlo para creerlo e incluso así podéis pensar si realmente existe de verdad! He visto muchos sitios pero ninguno como este! No tan bonito, tan único. Dice la leyenda que sus aguas termales hacen que la gente parezca 10 años más jóven. Quizá por eso Cleopatra eligió este sitio para uno de sus baños... La puesta del sol empezaba a cambiar los colores de nuestro castillo de algodón y una vez más Turquía resultó incluso más bonita de lo que pude imaginar.

Postoje dva mesta koja sam želela da posetim celog svog života. Prvo od njih je Efes - poznati antički grad koji krije Artemidin hram, jedno od sedam svetskih čuda antičkog sveta, zatim tu je poznata Celzusova biblioteka čiji je tajni tunel vodio u jedan od prvih burdela, a u neposrednoj blizini se nalazi statua prve poslovne žene! To je grad u kojem je svaki posetilac prvo morao da se okupa kako bi kročio u njega, grad u kojem su se važne odluke donosile u javnom toaletu, grad prepun ovakvih priča i legendi. Druga destinacija je Pamukale ili pamučna tvrđava, pravo čudo naše planete, istinsko remek delo prirode. Kako mogu da vam opišem belu boju stena, tirkiznu boju vode, pogled koji se pruža u nedogled? Morate da vidite svojim očima da biste verovali a čak i tada će te se pitati kako je moguće da tako nešto postoji! Videla sam mnogo mesta ali nijedno kao Pamukale, nijedno tako lepo i tako posebno. Legenda kaže da će vas njegove termalne vode učiniti 10 godina mlađim. Možda je zato Kleopatra izabrala ovo mesto za jedno od svojih kupatila... Zalazak sunca je počeo da menja boju naše trvđave od pamuka i još jednom Turska se pokazala još lepšom nego što sam ikada mogla da zamislim.
