Mérida, Spain

 ENG

If you've been following me for a while, you probably remember Mérida, a Spanish city near Portugal which is dear to my heart since it's my hubby's hometown. That's where we ended our family trip that began in Lisbon.

Mérida was one of the most important cities of the Roman Empire (Emerita Augusta founded by Augustus in 25 BC) and nowadays is the capital of autonomous community of Extremadura.  Plenty of monuments from the Roman period are a very good reason to visit this city and southwestern Spain.

The majority of the photos were taken at the Roman Theatre, probably the most spectacular place in the city, also know for The International Festival of the Classical Theatre of Merida, which I was able to enjoy a couple of summers ago. You can also see a bit of the Amphitheatre, Aqueduct of Miracles, fortification Alcazaba, Roman bridge over the Guadiana river, the Temple of Diana and more. Hope you like it! :)

Takođe smo na kratko obišli i rimski amfiteatar, Akvadukt Milagros, arapsko utvrđenje (Alcazaba), rimski most iznad reke Gvadijane i Hram boginje Dijane. Nadam se da će vam se svideti :)

  2. Hola guapa!

Proljetno, lijepo, ženstveno, a opet vjerojatno i udobno...savršeno.

Obožavam amfiteatre, uvek me fasciniraju svojom grandioznošću.

      Hvala Ivanice! <3

  11. Hi Tijana! Your husband's hometown is terrific, he was so lucky to grow up nearby huge amount of architectural monuments, I'm really impressed and amazed that part of ancient city has survived and it's in really good condition, I'd love to visit this place too. :) What about your outfit, I love your silver bag, if it's new collection of h&m? It seems in perfect size, what's more, I just love metallic shade of its. :)
    Take care, Tijana :)

    1. Hey dear :) Yeah, it's really a nice city and the ancient architecture is preserved. The theatre was discovered only at the beginning of the last century, so I guess it's the main reason because it's in such a good condition :)
Glad you like the outfit, too! :)
Uhmm, I'm not sure, I mean, I bought it a couple of months ago on sale, but maybe it was a part of the first round of spring collection ;)

  15. I love this kind of posts on your blog! Merida looks like such a wonderful place full of history. I would love to visit it one day and dive into its atmosphere. 1. I'm glad you enjoyed them and I'm sure you would love Mérida. You know, if you go to Lisbon, Mérida is just a couple of hours away so it's a good opportunity because otherwise it's kind of complicated. We don't go that often, but at lest once or twice a year and it's always nice to be back with my hubby's family and to enjoy the beauty of the city :)
I'm great, thanks, just I barely have time for blogging these days. Hope you're doing great, as well! :)
