Lanzarote, Spain - Day 2

Speaking about the devil (part 1)... Well, what else could be a symbol of this island which third part went dark black when a devastating eruption from the 18th century showed no mercy and left behind this huge area looking like another planet. Literally. There is something so powerful, so crazy in the fact that you're standing right there in the middle of the lava stones, feeling how the black earth that's pleasantly warm mixes with the winds that never stop on Lanzarote, knowing that this thing, that volcano crater you're watching, could explode in any moment. You feel so much respect and maybe fear, probably the same thing that felt people who lived there, who knows when, and who were never safe knowing that some pagan god, or call it a devil, would punish them with fire in any moment. Visiting this place, Timanfaya National Park, definitely was an unique experience. We even had lunch prepared on the heat that comes naturally from never cold volcano rocks (more organic and ecological impossible) and all that spiced up with the view of craters on one side and small geysers on the other. Then once again I had the opportunity to  do something so special to me, to ride a camel, her name is Shakira haha, like I did in Tunisia many years ago. Actually, camels are still used like domestic animals on the island. And then, when you think that nothing can surprise you, there it is, a neon green lake that for some reason decided to stay there, between volcano and this wild black beach. They say that some special algae gave the lake its saturated color. And you know what? That's other thing that surprises me, the fact that there are so many living creatures in such an inhabitable area. I feel like I was trapped in one of those National Geography documentaries that I never stop watching...

Sjajno! Jako bih volela da posetim to ostrvo jednom! :)

Yup, that's because the people who first settled the island have the same origin as the Berbers from North Africa ;)
