Sardinia, Italy: Pan di Zucchero

So, we drove through a beautiful mountain area with one goal, to arrive at this spot where I'm standing in the first photo, Pan di Zucchero, a peculiar rock that stands out in the sea and owes its name to a giant sugar cube. It's a wonderful area where the nature did a great job while creating these spectacular views, paradise beaches and everything you can imagine when in a place like that. 

     Well, we were there like 10 minutes because all off a sudden, a huge amount of rain ruined everything we had planed and we actually needed to move. But how do you move in car which is almost floating on the slippery tiny mountain roads?! Than the car stopped like the previous day and after that, the GPS took us to a mine! Somehow we managed to get out of there, go back to Cagliari and leave other parts of the island for some another trip. 

     On our way there, we wanted to stop somewhere to eat. But hey! There isn't anything, anything on the 2 hours long road. Just a small gasoline station where this strange lady was selling some creepy dolls (whaaat???) and bubble gums! The day ended up much better while in Cagliari and everything was normal again.

Ese día después de pasar por una región preciosa de montañas, acabamos en el sitio de la primera foto, Pan di Zucchero, una roca enorme rodeada del mar. En esta zona, la naturaleza hizo algo increíble y creó esas vistas espectaculares, con cantilados y playas, tan bonitas como las imaginamos en un sitio como este.

     Desgraciadamente, estuvimos ahí solo unos 10 minutos porque de repente empezó a llover muchísimo y se canceló todo lo que teníamos planeado para ese día. El problema fue mover el coche que estaba resbalando en caminos estrechos de la zona, cubiertos de agua. De repente, el coche no iba a arrancar como el día anterior y después, el GPS nos llevó a una mina! No sé como conseguimos salir de ese sitio, pero nos fuimos a Cagliari y dejamos otras partes de la isla para algún viaje en futuro.

      Cagliari está en unas dos horas de ese sitio y como no, queríamos hacer una pausa y comer algo por el camino. Pero que va! No había nada, pero nada en la carretera, solo una pequeña gasolinera donde una señora de un aspecto raro vendía muñecas, parecidas a las de las pelis de miedo (???) y chicles! Afortunadamente, acabamos en Cagliari en algún momento y el día volvió a ser normal.

Tog dana smo se vozili kroz predivan planinski predeo, sa ciljem da vidimo mesto sa prve slike, Pan di Zucchero, deo ostrva poznatog po ogromnoj steni koja izvire iz mora a koje duguje svoje ime kocki šećera. Malo je reći da je to jedan neverovatan deo Sardinije, gde je priroda na najbolji mogući način stvorila divne pejzaže, prostrane vidike i rajske plaže.

     Nažalost, mogli smo da uživamo u prizoru svega 10-ak minuta jer je odjendom počela da lije kiša i svi planovi su pali u vodu (bukvalno :p). Trebalo je da se sklonimo sa tog mesta ali kako kad su uski planinski putići klizavi i prepuni vode. Onda su nam kola opet stala kao prošlog puta, a kada se to nekako rešilo, GPS nas je odveo u neki rudnik! Ne znam kako smo izašli odatle, ali smo se upitili u Kaljari, a avanture po ostrvu smo ostavili za neko naredno putovanje.

     Do Kaljarija ima jedno 2 sata vožnje pa smo usput hteli da svratimo negde ne bi li smo pojeli nešto. Nemoguća misjia! Bukvalno nije bilo ničega na autoputu, samo jedna mala benzinska pumpa gde neka čudna gospođa prodaje lutke, nalik onima iz horor filmova (???) i žvake! Srećom, stigli smo nekako u Kaljari a dan je počeo da dobija normalniji tok.
