Mallorca #7: Problem at Pollensa Bay

There's no doubt why one of my all time favorite authors, Agatha Christie, chose today's location for one her stories, Problem at Pollensa Bay. Just look at the scenery! Look at those colors! The weather must have been dramatic that day in 1932, like it was the day we visited the bay during this quick and unexpected stop just before leaving the island. I imagine Agatha, sitting on these same rocks in Pollensa and looking at the clouds slowly painting the sea with grey and blue. How I wish I could travel into the past and chit-chat with incredible lady Christie whose steps I've been following around the world, accidentally and unexpectedly. I wonder where will we meet next...

Entiendo perfectamente porqué una de mis escritoras favoritas, Agatha Christie, se inspiró en este sitio cuando escrbió una de sus historias, Problema en Pollensa. ¡Mirad esos paisajes! Mirad esos colores! Supongo que la luz era tan dramática ese día en 1932, como era el día que hicimos esta pequeña visita, antes de irnos de la isla. Imagino a Agatha, sentada en estas mismas rocas de la Bahía de Pollensa, observando las nubes que pintaban el mar de tonos grisáceos y azulados. ¿En qué estaba pensando? Ojalá pudiera hacer una pequeña visita al pasado y charlar con esta gran mujer cuyos pasos he ido siguiendo sin planearlo y sin buscarlo. No puedo evitar de preguntarme cuál será el próximo destino?

U sekundi sam shvatila zbog čega je meni jedna od najomiljenijih žena i pisaca, Agata Kristi, odabrala baš današnju lokaciju kao inspiraciju za jednu od svojih priča, Problem at Pollensa Bay. Pogledajte samo te pejzaže, te boje! Vreme mora da je bilo isto tako dramatično te 1932. godine, kao i dana kada smo napravili ovu potpuno neplaniranu pauzu pre odlaska sa ostrva. Zamišljam Agatu kako sedi na tim istim stenama u zalivu Poljensa i posmatra oblake koji šaraju more sivo-plavim nijansama. O čemu li je razmišljala? Kako bih volela da mogu da otputujem u prošlost i sednem na kamen pored nje. Kako bih volela da proćaskam sa gospođom Kristi čije korake uporno pratim po svetu, sasvim slučajno i neočekivano. Pitam se na kom mestu ćemo se ponovo sresti...
